Experience:
Master Sergeant Larry D. Smith Sr. is in his fifteenth year as an Aerospace Science Instructor with the Prattville High School Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp(AFJROTC) Program. Sergeant Smith instruct students on leadership education, aerospace science, physical fitness and drill and ceremony. Before teaching AFJROTC he worked with students with special needs at the Prattville Intermediate School. Master Sergeant Smith began his teaching career in 1987 as an Aircrew Life Support Instructor in the United States Air Force; where he taught survival and rescue techniques and system support instructions to over seven thousand aviators in his twenty year Air Force career
Master Sergeant Larry D. Smith Sr. was born in Anniston, Alabama and graduated from Anniston High School in Calhoun County. After graduation, Sergeant Smith attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham for two years before beginning his military career. He served two years in the United States Army Reserves then enlisted in the United States Air Force. Master Sergeant Smith enjoyed twenty years of active service in the Air Force prior to his retirement in 2004. Sergeant Smith is married to the former Pamela Teague of Anniston Alabama and they have one son, Larry Jr.
